I am a curator and writer, born in Kabul and raised near the Djarlgarro Beelier (Canning River) on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja. My professional experience spans academia, not-for-profits, volunteer boards, and government. I am currently Curator at West Space in Naarm, Melbourne.
In 2024 I was the project manager for the Golden Lion winning exhibition kith and kin, working closing with artist Archie Moore and curator Ellie Buttrose to produce their exhibition for the 60th Venice Biennale. My writing has been published in Architecture Australia, un Magazine, Art Guide, Fine Print Magazine and West Space Offsite.
I am working on a doctoral research project at Monash University which examines the imperial formations that have produced the geopolitical space of Afghanistan to outline the ways contemporary art practices register, mediate, or contest those conditions.
